"Cumann Tachaiochta Ceilteach Gaolach"
Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Any club wishing to join the A.I.C.S.C can they contact michael.kelly@aicsc.com
This year’s AGM will take place on Saturday 8th September at the Citywest Hotel, Saggart, County Dublin at 2.30pm. Please assemble at the Newcastle Room, which is situated in the leisure complex adjacent to the main hotel.
Any clubs unable to attend are kindly asked to forward their apologies. Proxy votes are admissible for committee elections, but only if they are strictly in accordance with the rules set down in Article 12(h) of the constitution.
Please also see Article 9 and 13(d) of the constitution for the agenda for the meeting and the various committee positions that are up for election this year, namely Chairman, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Assistant Secretary, Assistant Transport Officer, Assistant Merchandise Officer and Ticket Co-ordinator.
Nominations for all positions are invited. In the event of there being more than one candidate for any position on the day, a secret ballot shall take place. However, please bear in mind that candidates for the above offices must be members of the Association proposed by a member club and seconded by another member club, neither of which shall be that candidate’s own club and that no person is eligible for election to the Executive Committee if that person is not an existing member of the Committee.
All clubs in attendance will be entered for a draw to win directors’ box tickets to the match against Inverness Caley Thistle on 15th September.
Member clubs are asked to note that Paul Cuddihy, editor of the Celtic View, will also be in attendance at the AGM to give a short presentation about the View and take feedback, opinions and questions from delegates. We would encourage delegates to come along and discuss the Celtic View or, if you cannot attend, send your questions or points through another delegate, committee members or provincial representative.
The minutes of last year’s AGM were issued shortly after the meeting to all member clubs but any club that does not have these to hand is asked to contact the Committee as soon as possible.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership for 2007-08 is now open and a date shall be set for close of membership at the meeting (likely to be 31 October). This date shall be strictly adhered to and clubs in breach shall not be able to avail of assistance with match tickets, membership of the internet mailing list, hotel bookings (and special rates), charter trips to European matches or any other services of the association until membership is paid in full. Any clubs placing orders for tickets and booking hotel rooms may have those orders or reservations cancelled in favour of paid-up clubs if they have not paid their membership dues by the closing date.
Furthermore, no club with debts outstanding to the association shall be permitted to renew its membership until all debts are paid. Membership fees are currently £2 or €3 per member and it is proposed that they remain as such for next season.
Membership forms are included for those clubs that may wish to renew membership at or before the AGM. We would remind clubs that (under Article 7(c) of the constitution) membership is not complete until:
1. payment is made in full (with no debts outstanding); and
2. the form is completed with a list of members.
PROVINCIAL REPRESENTATIVES
In accordance with the constitution, the Provincial Representatives for Munster and Connacht are to be elected this year and their appointments to be recorded at the A.G.M.. We would ask that the current representatives can make all necessary arrangements to hold elections before proceedings in at the AGM get underway. Failing that, an election will take place at an appropriate point at the AGM by inviting member clubs from the respective provinces to meet for the purpose of electing a representative.
CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS/MOTIONS
Article 16 states that any clubs wishing to put forward amendments to the constitution for consideration by member clubs’ delegates at the AGM should arrive 14 days prior to the meeting. Given that you may not have received notice of the meeting in time to meet this deadline, proposed amendments will be accepted 7 days in advance of the meeting in writing from the club secretary to the association Secretary.
Similarly, any member club wishing to move a motion for the AGM to consider is requested to forward in writing in the terms outlined above.
The constitution was issued to all members at the start of last season and is available on www.aicsc.com or can be sent to any member club on request by e-mail or post.
MERCHANDISE
Aisling and Neville will have a range of merchandise at the AGM. If any clubs have specific orders, please contact Neville Carolan on +353 (0) 87 9177345, so that he can bring sufficient stock with him. Any clubs unable to attend can forward orders for delivery or collection at a later date.
Full details on the O’Neills range of merchandise is on www.aicsc.com or in the enclosed leaflet for those of you who have received this letter by post.
TICKETS
As we expect to have an allocation of tickets for all home games next season and an increasing number of clubs seeking assistance with match tickets, the ticket scheme will again be operation. Consequently, all clubs that wish to avail of assistance with tickets must pay a one-off sum of £50 by way of a bond. This will be refundable at the end of the season (or at anytime, providing the particular member club has no outstanding debts) or can be carried forward. Therefore, clubs currently in the scheme and who do not owe any money will be allowed to carry over their £50 to 2007-08.
The funds retained by the association will be used to act as a form of security so that if a club owes any sum to the association at the end of a season, the £50 may not be reimbursed to the club.
Member clubs are advised that all clubs (whether renewing membership of the scheme or joining for the first time) must complete the enclosed form and return it by 31 October 2007. Please see the guidelines enclosed for further information.
Member clubs are also advised that the loyalty scheme will continue to be in operation this season (see enclosed). In addition, as with last season, clubs will be charged a flat rate £5 charge for every ticket transaction, so as to cover postal, handling, telephone, travel and other expenses that the ticket officers might accumulate. This will apply to all transactions large or small.
EUROPEAN AWAY MATCHES
Member clubs are reminded that they are bound by the Code of Conduct at Schedule B to the constitution when travelling on association trips to matches and are asked to bring this to the attention of all of their members who sign up to travel with us this season.
